The team at East Sacramento Veterinary Center<\/a> shares 3 tips to reduce pet stress during the firework season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Reducing Your Pet\u2019s Stress During Firework Season<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The good news for pet parents in Sacramento County is that local firework regulations are on our pets\u2019 side. Only Safe and Sound<\/a> fireworks are allowed. This means that unless you pass the stringent licensing application for a firework event, you\u2019re limited to sparklers, fountains, and other pyrotechnics that don\u2019t explode in the sky. And even then, sales of these tame fireworks are only allowed from June 28 to July 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bad news is that not everyone follows the rules. Plus, there are <\/em>those licensed displays to think about. Here\u2019s how you can help your pet stay safe and stress-free during firework season: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Make Sure IDs and Microchips Are Up-To-Date<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Dogs and cats run away from home every year during the summer. The loud sounds, odd smells, and strange sights of even the tamest Safe-and-Sound fireworks can upset your pooch or kitty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By making sure your pet\u2019s ID tags and microchip information<\/a> are up-to-date, you\u2019ll have an easier time reuniting with a runaway dog. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Keep Your Pets Inside <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
